Of Course, Cynthia Erivo Saved Her Best Nail Art for Last at the 2025 Oscars—See the Photos

Cynthia Erivo has worn some of the most amazing, jaw-droppingly detailed and intricate nail art throughout the Wicked press tour and awards season, but she may have saved the best for last. Case in point: her Oscars manicure, which is so elaborate I need a magnifying glass to see every incredible detail.

Erivo, who is nominated for her portrayal of Elphaba in the first installment of the Wicked film adaptation, works closely with nail artist Mycah Dior on manicure after manicure. For the 2025 Oscars, Erivo opted for a gold-themed set to set off the rich emerald green of her custom Louis Vuitton gown. Each long, stiletto-shaped nail was laden with texture and treasures, including similar metallic gold motif across most of her nails, but each nail was its own mini-masterpiece.

Her pointer finger included a handful of emerald green gems arranged in a cross shape, matching the emerald-and-diamond ring Erivo wore stacked with another diamond band; a small gold chain dangled from the pointy tip. Her ring finger was all gold, just like the statuette itself, as was her pinky finger. My favorite detail, however, was the small clock decal placed in the center of her middle finger. (Was it a functional clock to check the time during the show? That’s a TBD, but it’s so charming nonetheless!)

On the other hand, Erivo included a nod to Elphaba with a vibrant turquoise green color on her pointer finger, a shade that echoed the gemstones in her jewels and on her other fingernails.

See them in their full glory and definitely zoom in, because there’s so much beauty here:
